Still not a doctor. BUT nonetheless, since Lulu and I’s last post about anxiety, I have come across a few new things that are currently helping me when the rumblings of panic come plowing through.
Let’s talk about one them, shall we?!
1:07 PM suddenly starts feeling anxious.
1:08 PM begins feeling anxious about feeling anxious.
1:09 PM “Oh come on brain! We were doing so well! Just look what you did, a 3-day streak dashed to pieces.”
1:09 PM tries to hide crying with sunglasses.
In my humble opinion, the “having anxiety because I am feeling anxious” feeling is right up there with busted Christmas lights #talkaboutfrustrating. But one thing that I’ve been trying when this happens is to cut myself some slack: “hey, it’s okay. It truly is quite alright that I am feeling anxious. Is anxiety alright? Not really, but it’s okay to be feeling anxious.”
My original anxiety does not magically go away, but that added layer of “anxiety because of anxiety” usually begins to lessen.
It then becomes easier to evaluate my original panic.
Again, I am not a doctor, but this bit of self-talk has helped me A TON.
Side note, Swedish Hasbeens are PRETTY DANG COMFY.
If you struggle with anxiety, just know you’re not alone.
Oh and P. S. you are the most fantastic sparkle unicorn that has ever set foot on this planet!
